The fourth and final day of the Cheltenham Festival is Gold Cup Day. This is the biggest day of the four-day festival with the most anticipated National Hunt race of the season – the Gold Cup. Crowds of around 70,000 people will be at Cheltenham, with other big races such as the Albert Bartlett Novices’ Hurdle and the JCB Triumph Hurdle also taking place. The running order for the fourth day is as follows;
Grade 1 | 8 Hurdles| 2m 1f on New Course | 4 yo | Novices’ only | £125K
There are weight allowances for the JCB Triumph Hurdle. 4yo at a weight of 11st. Fillies receive an allowance of 7lb in this race.
The winner in the 2022 JCB Triumph Hurdle was Vauban at odds of 6/4F.
Grade 3 | 8 Hurdles | 2m 1f on New Course | 5 yo+ | £100K
The weights in the County Handicap Hurdle will be different with each horse. This means there will be a variety of weights in the race in order to give all the horse an even chance.
The winner in the 2022 County Handicap Hurdle was State Man at odds of 11/4F.
